Food Post 1!

I live in the south where food is delicious. I tried to avoid food when it comes to this project, but I love food. I really do. And I love taking food, and then cooking it into even better food. It might be one of my favorite activities. I’ve been throwing stuff around in the kitchen and seeing what comes up. So far so good. Here’s some random cookie recipe I came up with.

French Toast Cookies

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 and 1/4 cups white sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tblsp baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup of butter
  • 1 cup of chocolate chips
  • 1 cup of butterscotch chips
  • powdered sugar to taste
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

Preheat oven at 300. Combine salt, flour and soda in a mixing bowl. Mix sugar, syrup, and butter and blend until pasty. Add eggs and vanilla, blend. Add flour, soda, and salt, blend but do not overblend. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, bake for 18-22 minutes or until golden brown. Cool and sprinkle cookies with powdered sugar on top.

First cookie from scratch right here! I guess that is part of having a house and a husband in the south huh? You need to learn how to make delicious food. Do you have any idea how many potlucks the state of Tennessee sees every year? Probably billions. Yup…billions.

Until the end, The Blended Mend.
